Golf Courses in South Africa - Zimbali
The
course is situated on the Kwazulu-Natal's Dolphin coast about 42 km away
from Durban's city center. Designed by Tom Weiskopf this relatively new
course is forged out of the forests and rocks of Kwazulu-Natal's north
coast.
Fish eagles, Goliath herons, Sunbirds, Vervet Monkeys and the rare
Blue Duikers inhabit this par 72 18-hole golf course. Most of the tees
are high on the side of hills or sand dunes. The fairways follow through
a valley with the green cut at the bottom of the next hill. Some of the
holes are amongst what were once cane fields with few trees and a distinct
"links" feel to it. Other holes are situated in more dense indigenous
forests and wet lands.
